Laser Scanner

Laser scanning technology enables ACME to offer better understanding and control of the extended supply chain to its OEM customers. By precisely characterizing parts in three dimensions, ACME creates a digital 3-D image of purchased castings and forgings, capturing every feature of internal and external geometry. With this information in hand, ACME is able to identify potential lack-of-stock issues and fixturing challenges before the machining process begins, reducing scrap and machine downtime.

ACME customers launching new product or qualifying new suppliers find this capability especially valuable. By overlaying the digital reproduction created by the laser scanner onto a CAD solid model of the part, ACME delivers a precise mapping of how well the new casting or forging complies with profile tolerances.
