Large Turning Capacity Added to Plant 2
August 1, 2007– Des Plaines, IL - Acme Industries, Inc., a production machining company located near O'Hare Int'l Airport, recently increased large diameter vertical turning with the purchase of a new Toshiba TUE-15 VTL. With swing diameter capabilities of up to 71" and tool height of 59" under the ram, this oversized machine will compliment Acme's large milling/drilling capabilities. This machine marks the fourth, large Toshiba TUE-15 for Acme's turning department joining 3 other VTL's and 6 horizontal lathes.
The new machine adds to Acme’s arsenal of large, precision equipment to meet the demands from today’s marketplace. Serving the large engine, transmission and drive train and locomotive markets, Acme’s position as a leader in the precision machining marketplace will be bolstered by the additional capacity.
