Acme Industries successfully completed machining of the first of two planetary gear carriers for Finnish gear box manufacturer, Moventas OY.  Moventas is one of the world's leading suppliers of mechanical power transmission equipment for the energy and process industries. “We have been targeting the wind energy market for 2 years now so it is good to see the efforts finally paying off,” said Robert Clifford, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Acme Industries. The ductile iron casting weighs a hefty 4500 pounds prior to machining.  Fred Young, Vice President of Operations for Acme said, “Demonstrating we can produce the level of precision this product requires on the first two machined parts is an accomplishment our team our team is very proud of.
